with Pamela Harnois
Saturdays, January 11 and 18, 2025
1pm-3pm EST (Eastern Standard Time)*
Join us for our 2-part New Year, New Brushstrokes! Watercolor Workshops for January 2025! Our focus will be on conifer trees.
Workshop Description
Enjoy an unconventional brushstroke approach to semi-abstract trees in the landscape. Specifically we’ll focus on conifer trees such as hemlocks and spruce. Learn that expression and directional flows can add remarkable dimension to your artwork. I’ll demonstrate throughout the workshop on composition, tonal shifts and more brushwork techniques that will guide you through this amazing process of my intuitive watercolor style. Let’s enjoy working wet-in-wet and all the fun it can provide as we continue to loosen up.
Don't miss this opportunity to expand your painting skills and let your creativity flow. I highly recommend you sign up for Part 1 and Part 2 as the classes play off of each other.
Part 1 - The Elements, Sat, Jan 11: Wet-in-wet, unconventional brushstrokes, color mixes in Part 1 only.
Part 2 - The Mindset, Sat, Jan 18: Composition, directional flows, project piece painting (There is no color mixing in Part 2)

Pamela Harnois, watercolor artist
In my Norfolk, Connecticut studio
In Pamela’s watercolors, one discovers a delicate balance of lightness and fluidity, showcasing a style that is uniquely her own. Each brushstroke exudes a spontaneous flow, as she allows the paints to dance freely across the paper, seamlessly blending colors and contrasts. Observers are immediately captivated by the interplay between light and dark, as well as the juxtaposition of proportions and dimensions within her compositions. The ability to capture the very essence of her subjects reflects not only her formal training—a BFA in Watercolor from the University of Massachusetts Amherst—but also her innate talent for intuitive brushwork, cultivated through years of practice and exploration. In her work, she not only captures moments but also evokes emotions, inviting viewers into a world where every brushstroke tells a story. For more info, click here.
